The food arrives fresh, it is set up, and the family does not have to think about it again.

We offer delivered catering and fully staffed event catering, where our team manages food service from start to finish. Drinks packages with a licensed portable bar are also available.

Fabulous Catering holds a portable liquor licence and can serve alcohol at any venue, including private homes, church halls, community spaces and function centres across Melbourne. Our RSA-certified bartenders bring the bar setup to you.

Three packages available, each including all bar equipment, glassware, drinks tubs, ice buckets and ice. Bartender is additional. Minimum 50 guests. All prices per person, excluding GST.

A wake is usually held right after the service. Guests gather to share memories and offer support. The food needs to be reliable and generous, and it should require nothing from the family.

Celebration of life

A celebration of life is usually a more planned event, one that reflects the person being remembered. Our Memorial Package works well for these occasions, with staffed canape service, scones, desserts and unlimited tea and coffee.

How much does funeral catering cost in Melbourne?

Fabulous Catering's 2026 funeral packages start at $18.50pp for the Cold Funeral Package (4 pieces, delivery only), $29.50pp for the Hot Funeral Package (9 pieces, delivery or fully catered), and $44.50pp for the Memorial Package (12 pieces, with staff to serve). All prices exclude GST. Delivery and staff costs are additional. A tea and coffee station can be added to the Hot Funeral Package for $5.00pp.

What food is typically served at a wake in Melbourne?

Finger food and platters are most common at Melbourne wakes. They are easy to serve, let guests move around, and take nothing from the family on the day. Fabulous Catering's wake menus typically include sandwich platters, hot finger food, cold quiche, mixed desserts and seasonal fruit. A tea and coffee station is also a common addition.

What is the difference between wake catering and celebration of life catering?

A wake is an informal gathering held right after a funeral, where guests offer support and share memories. A celebration of life is usually a separately planned event focused on the person who has passed, often with a more personal feel and a longer run time. Fabulous Catering uses the same 2026 funeral menu packages for both, adjusting the service style to suit each event.

How much notice do you need for funeral catering?

We can accommodate short notice bookings. Call 1300 850 720 directly and the team will advise on availability for your date. The earlier you can get in touch, the more flexibility there is with menu choices and staffing.

Do you cater at funeral homes, church halls and private homes in Melbourne?

Yes. We deliver to funeral parlours, church halls, reception venues, RSL clubs, community spaces and private homes across Melbourne. Event catering is also available in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Contact us to confirm your specific venue.

Can you provide a licensed bar at a wake or celebration of life?

Yes. We hold a portable liquor licence and can serve alcohol at any venue. Three packages are available: Classic (from $32.50pp for 2 hours), Premium (from $42.50pp for 2 hours) and Boutique (from $62.50pp for 2 hours). Minimum 50 guests. All prices exclude GST. Bartender is additional.

Grazing board prices: Mini (1 metre) at $650, 2-metre board (60-80 guests) at $1,650, 3-metre board (80-100 guests) at $2,050, and 4-metre board (110-150 guests) at $2,600.
